I’m Paola Ismene.
I love pink, Japan, music, chocolate and swimming.
I take pictures. I love it too.
Born and based in Mexico City, completed her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and Photography at Active School of Photography. Has continued her studies at San Carlos Academy, University Museum of Contemporary Art and Foto Museo Cuatro Caminos, among others. Won the contest Selfexpression by Saatchi Gallery London in 2017 and the Selfportrait category in Mobile Photography Awards 2018. Has exhibited her work in England and Mexico.
Her photographic practice stems from the constant need to mean the everyday. Through images, she links the experiences, places and objects with which she interacts to her mental and emotional universe. She constructs narratives that play between the real and the imaginary in pursuit of a collective identity. With this, she intends that her work serves as a reminder of what unifies us as human beings: complex individuals, connected by the same emotions and inhabiting the same physical plane.
